Broken Promises

Broken promises
Save lives
Broken lives
Keep promises
Of despair
Of everything
Of nothing
Vices remain
To pick up the pieces
To help repair
Until the next time
Lives are shattered
Bruised and battered
Fucking numb

Those Eyes

I can see the insincerity
Staring right back at me
Through your eyes
Which reveal
The  tarnished holes
That holds your soul
Lips that part
Telling only lies
No known concept of compromise
Just my demise
When I look
Into those eyes.
You only wanting
To part my thighs
Unaware of the sorrow
In my eyes
But I’m starting to see right through your guise
So I regroup and realize
There is nothing
 Behind those eyes

Decay

We live in the age of technology
Where, instead of making a difference
Or really caring about anything
We “like” or “share it”
To prove we are for it.
What about the days of action
Where’s the passion?
What a lackluster age we live in
Everything declining
And we sit back and post statuses about it,
Whining.
When we actually do something about it
There’s  always someone there to stop us
An age where protests
End in arrests.
They wonder what’s wrong with the youth of today
It’s because they aren’t from yesterday.
Our world is in disarray
And we sit idly by
And watch as it
Decays.

The Return of the Night Terror

All night terrors are bad, but some stand out above the rest. Last night I had not one, but two night terrors of this caliber. I feel completely drained. I feel as if I got no sleep and everything about my day seems fuzzy. The last time I had one this bad was back in November. That post can be found here.

I am never able to remember my night terrors. Generally only bits and pieces. This morning I texted my boyfriend some of the details so I could recall them later on. Honestly, the written details are the only parts I can remember and not knowing the rest is always the worst part.

I went back to my elementary school. My second grade teacher was there. She told me she was helping the children out eight days a week. It didn't register then how strange that was. Well, I followed her to her "class" and I was surrounded by a bunch of dead children in the hallways. They were singing Ring Around The Rosy in out of tune unison. Just as they were about to kill me my roommate heard me and woke me from that one.

I had another one and she said I had been screaming louder that time. I didn't write down the details so I have no idea what it was about. I noticed that my last Night Terror post got a lot of hits from people looking up night terrors. Hopefully some of those people can relate, not with the hellish things that are happening, but by knowing others experience the same thing.

Hopefully I can shed this feeling of dread, otherwise I will be writing strictly horror for a while.

Maybe night terrors are just a very warped version of a muse.

I'm Back

After much ado, I have finally returned.

Most of my files have been saved(and backed up NUMEROUS times) and I am now typing comfortably on my new Lenovo Thinkpad. I am absolutely in love with this laptop. All of you authors out there, it is rated best keyboard. If I wanted to go all secret agent I could even access it through fingerprint. Not saying I would, but it's good to know I can.

Today I opened up Sunny With a Chance of Homicide and began reading over it. The main thing it made me realize is that I love writing. That should be one of the most obvious things ever, but after an almost four month hiatus, it wasn't. In that time I loved the idea of writing, but got no actual writing done. My laptop and the loss and recent retrieval of my files was like going to couple's counseling with my writing. The spark is back in our relationship and it isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

The Prologue to Don't Ask, Don't Tell was a terrible portrayal of my main character. I rewrote that and have been cutting superfluous things that I can't even believe I wrote in the first place.

Well, less time blogging, more time writing.

Just wanted to let you all know that I am still among the living.

Torn review by Rue Volley

If you have missed book one in Rue Volley’s Razor Saga, I highly recommend you go and get it. Now, but only if you are comfortable with hardcore erotic fiction. Trust me, you’ll want to read it so you can jump right into book two, Torn. Torn was a fast-paced, super hot read that left me anxious for the next one.

We find Lilah in the aftermath of Razor, and while I can’t tell you what that situation is in fear of giving things away, when you begin Torn you will still be reeling from the loop Rue Volley threw you in the first installment.

Volley will take you places no other book printed in the United States can take you. Her book is so dirty US printers refuse to print it, and that is the highest praise an author can get.[At least in my opinion.] Both Razor and Torn are edgy, beautifully written stories that leave you wanting more. The characters, regardless of the time spent in the story are engaging and believable.

I love it when an author writes to tell a story alone, and not worry about marketability. Rue Volley is that author.

The Razor Saga will take you places you never thought you would go, but you may never want to leave. I am already anticipating book three in the series, Malice.

If my blog had star ratings, I would definitely assign both Razor and Torn a five out of five.

A Poem

It’s not me, it’s you
All the things you put me through

Forgiveness can only go so far
When you lie about who you are

Try not to win me back
I don’t want to pick up the slack

For now I am better off
And even if you may scoff

I’ve moved on
So please, take this as an affirmation

The worst parts of me were caused by you
And it is with that, I say ado.
